Ty Locked Up Solid!
Hey Lantz, sorry it has taken me so long to get back with you.  Boomer
is doing great! He is going to be a great hunting dog and companion.  We
have ran him on birds a few times now, he is holding point nicely.  Our
children love him, he is very protective of them also.  A couple of days
ago the kids were playing in the front yard and someone came to the
house; Boomer stood in front of the kids growling at the stranger.

He has a lot of heart.  Boomer will start his training 3 times per week
the middle of August.  I will keep you informed on his progress.

Thanks,
Scott
Boomer Pointing The Wing, 8 weeks old.
We found Lantz and Hartley’s Quality Pointers on the internet.  They had a started dog for sale and
that was just what we were looking for.  When I talked to Lantz on the phone and told him the kind of
dog we were looking for he told me without hesitation that the dog he had was not a good match for us.
In today’s world you don’t often find someone willing to give up a quick $1800 for any reason, but it was
exactly because he did that, that we stayed with him and waited for just the right dog for our family.
We couldn’t be happier with that decision.
Over the next month or so, Lantz watched his new litter of pups to see which one might be the right
match for us.  We were looking for a pretty mellow dog that I could take to work with me, would lay on
a pillow while I studied, would be good with kids but still liked to hunt.  Lantz narrowed the list down to
just a couple and then finally down to one.  We talked on the phone and emailed over the following
months and he sent us a continual stream of very much anticipated pictures and even some video so we
could keep up with Coda’s progress.
We were able to visit once in the middle of the training and Lantz helped to train us which I think was
more difficult than any of Coda’s training.  When we finally came to pick Coda up, Lantz took us out to
show off Coda’s incredible points, good field manners and to further train us to keep up Coda’s training
at home.  Both times we were graciously welcomed into their home and it was easy to see how Lantz was
able to raise such a great all around hunting and family dog for us.
We could not be happier with our new family member or our dealings with Hartley’s Quality Pointers.
We have not only received a new furry member of our family but some great new human friends as well.
One final note:  There are a few fortunate people in this life who are able to discover their gifts at a
very early age and fewer still who are fortunate enough to be able to develop those gifts right away.
Lantz is one of these fortunate, fortunate people.  He has a great gift with dogs and that gift has fueled
a passion for gaining more and more knowledge, skill and experience in a very short time.  You could not
be in more competent, gifted, honest and compassionate hands as you look for your next best friend.

Coda On Point, 4 months old!
Lantz-
Sorry it has taken me so long to get back with you.  Hopefully through our original emails and
conversations you know how I feel about Lex.  He is an incredible dog with exceptional hunting
instincts.  He pointed the first bird we put him on as if he had done it a thousand times (At the age of 4
months).  It was very natural for him and now he cannot get enough.  When we get ready to “go find
some birds” he shakes with excitement.  He holds his point and does very well with the ‘Whoa’ command;
not to mention his point is very intense.  His nose is awesome!  If the wind is favorable, he’ll start
pointing birds 30 ft away and start moving ever so slowly in that direction as he is still trying to figure
out his range.  All of these attributes have been present without a lot of effort on my part.  All I have
done is provide a field and some birds and he has taught himself the hunting aspect.  We grew up hunting
behind really good GSP’s and my Dad says none of his dogs pointed and held point that early and that
good.  He has great temperament, as you can see in the picture with my daughter (Faythe).  She lays on
him and pulls his ears and he just licks her.  He also plays well with all children he is around.  He loves
to be around and do everything the family does.  He obviously is a well bred GSP and we couldn’t be
happier.  I love hunting behind GSP’s, it is one the the best childhood memories I have with my Dad and
now I have the opportunity to do the same with my children.  Thanks Lantz and Hartley’s Quality
Pointers for breeding such a wonderful dog.
I have also attached a few pictures of our most recent training session.

Thanks

1. When your pup arrived from Hartley's Quality Pointers, did it appear to be happy, healthy,
well adjusted and nutritionally sound?
Coda came home with us when he was 7 months old.  He was happy and healthy and has been ever since.
He’s been great with the kids and is a great addition to our family.

2. Does your puppy out of Hartley's Quality Pointers have natural field instinct?
Since Coda was a started puppy for us we got to see Coda work even before we brought him home.  He is
full of natural ability and Lantz did a great job molding that ability for us to get things started.

3. Does your puppy have a great temperament?
Coda has a great temperament.  He is excited to get out and run when it’s time to play but is very good
at calming down when he comes in the house.  He has been great with our two kids (10 & 13) and with
guests.

4. Was Lantz Hartley an honest breeder?
You couldn’t ask for a more honest and up front person in a breeder than Lantz.

5. Additional comments about Lantz Hartley, and/ or his puppies:
Lantz did a great job for us.  He listened to what kind of dog we were looking for in temperament and
ability and then watched the litters to see what dog would be a good fit for us.  He was willing to spend
the time needed to find the right fit.  In the extra training Lantz did for us we were very pleased with
Coda’s abilities in the field.  If you want a great dog from a great breeder, Lantz is where to go.
